Meet Marcin – Storyteller, Historian & Marathon Man
Born in London and raised in a small town in southern England, Marcin’s first passion was music. After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 1997, he spent over a decade immersed in the world of music — working internationally as a session musician, producer, and teacher. From jazz clubs to television soundtracks, Marcin’s career saw him collaborate with incredible artists and compose music for major broadcasters including the BBC, SKY and S4C.
In 2006, after years of non-stop performing and producing, Marcin took a leap into a new chapter. He moved to Munich for what was meant to be a short break — and ended up finding a whole new passion: sharing history through guiding.
Since then, Marcin has spent 17 years guiding visitors through Munich and Bavaria, specialising in its most complex and thought-provoking history — including fully qualified tours of the Dachau Memorial Site and in-depth explorations of the rise of National Socialism. But his tours aren’t only about the darker chapters; Marcin is equally at home guiding guests to castles, churches, beer halls and beyond, always weaving together the past and present with vivid storytelling and wit.
His love for history isn’t confined to Munich — it has taken him across Europe on epic journeys, including a 4,100km winter cycling trip through WWI and WWII sites across six countries, and by the end of 2025 he will have completed his 100th Marathon!
Marcin met Adam while guiding in Munich, and their shared passion for history, beer, and good company led them to co-found InMunich Tours in 2014. For Marcin, guiding isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to connect, inspire, and offer every visitor a deeper, more personal understanding of the city.
Whether you’re looking for insight, laughter, or just a great story told well, Marcin is here to be your guide — and your friend — InMunich.
Marcin was one of the best guides I have ever had for a tour. His knowledge was immense, and he handled the delicate subject matter with grace. It was obvious he as a true professional and has tremendous knowledge of concentration camps as a whole. I would highly encourage someone to do this tour.
Marcin was outstanding. Whilst I so appreciated his expert knowledge of Dachau, as a teacher I appreciated his communication and attention to detail re the transport arrangements. Visiting any Concentration Camp is hard and Marcin fully explained the awfulness of Dachau. I also appreciated hearing about his interactions with survivors and liberators.
Our Guide Marcin was an absolute pleasure. He explained everything and showed us the important parts of the tour. His knowledge of Dachau was amazing
